About us

Piassa is a party concept rooted in Black music, bringing the sounds of Africa, the Caribbean and the diaspora together on one dancefloor. The name is inspired by Piassa, the famous neighbourhood in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and comes from the Italian word piazza: the square, the open space in the middle of the city where everyone gathers. That idea is at the heart of everything we do. Since starting in Stockholm in 2024, Global Piassa has grown into a party that travels, from Stockholm and beyond, creating a square for everyone who loves the music, wherever we go. We team up with venues and other event collectives who get what we’re about, at home and wherever the party takes us. Because the best nights are the ones where people from everywhere end up on the same dancefloor.
